Great Master Liu and an Ordinary Person of Feng Shui

Listener,

I have heard a legend about Liu Bowen, the ancient Chinese military strategist and Feng Shui expert.

Once, Liu Bowen was on the road, tired and thirsty. Passing by a tent, he went in to ask for water.

The hostess put a scoop of clean water into a bowl filled with discarded rice shells. This gritty water was offered to the traveler. Agitated with thirst, it was so difficult to drink. Liu Bowen was offended, but desperate!

So, he sipped the mixture slowly.

The hostess learned that her guest was Great Master Liu Bowen, famed in strategy and Feng Shui design across all the known lands.

She asked him,

“Please Great Master Liu, help me choose a place to build our family home.”

Liu Bowen was very irritated with her. He pointed randomly,

“There.”

Years later, he passed by there again, and it was very strange to see the family now rich and filial. The hostess recognized him, thanked him abundantly, and invited him inside their home.

The air was temperate. A natural spring flowed by gently. The once desolate region was now called Sasha Valley. Liu Bowen asked about the miraculous changes he observed.

The hostess smiled and said,

“I saw that you were in a hurry and sweating profusely. If you were to quench your thirst quickly, not only would you not be satisfied, you would also be sick. Rice shells in the water made you breathe slowly and drink slowly.”

Oh! Liu Bowen, realizing his error, proclaimed,

“The good house does not need to look for Feng Shui, everywhere is a treasure of Fuxing!”

All good fortune comes from the heart; all luck is cause and effect.

Kindness is the best Feng Shui in life.

Thank you for listening,
